June 2026: “If you want to talk with me, you’ll have to walk.”

"If you want to talk with me, you'll have to walk."

That saying captures how we think about growth through our Lead For One cohort.

Leaders across the city (our 2026 cohort pictured below!) are learning Do For One's Relationship-based Advocacy Model through this course, which integrates the philosophy, social theory, and practiced wisdom needed to reweave the social fabric of our divided world.

Some are dreaming about how to apply these ideas to the benefit of their own family members. Others, about building entirely new programs to reach isolated people.

It’s easier to talk in the abstract about building relationships with people on the margins than to actually walk the talk. The impact of such a dense curriculum and demanding slow work of relationship-building tends to show in years, not weeks or months.

See below for one example.

P.S. Thank you for those who gave to our spring campaign. we raised $15,195!

From NYC to Indianapolis

In April of 2026, Andrew led a cohort based out of Indianapolis in thinking intentionally about relationship-building. Jeanne, pictured top right, says:

"It requires a lot of work to spread a message that is so pure, but life changing.

Thank you Do For One for seeing a need and working so hard to get that need fulfilled in NYC and in so doing, teaching us how to fulfill that need here in Indianapolis!"
