Meet Belinda & Makenna, Our New Residents!

Meet Makenna

You may remember Megan and Annette’s relationship story, featured in our October 2024 newsletter “Home Again”

Today, we would like to introduce you to another friend in Annette’s life, Makenna, who accepted a year-long position in our residency program this May. Makenna provides a beautiful glimpse into how knowing Annette, a former social worker herself, has influenced her career decisions when she says, "Annette encouraged me recently to make a cautiously risky change."

Makenna says,

"It has been incredible to see the variety and uniqueness of everyone drawn to the mission of Do For One. I hope to form connections with seemingly disparate individuals and am particularly drawn to the elderly, an unfortunately devalued group and often intentionally separated from the rest of society."

Meet Belinda

Belinda has been a long-time friend of Do For One, supporting our events and initiatives over the years with generosity and joy.

An engineer by trade, she has recently felt compelled to explore professional work that is more relational and people centered.

Belinda says,

“I want to help give people who are isolated a sense of belonging in this world. A strong community like DFO and especially a great and trusted friend makes all the difference in life. I hope to learn and contribute to all the great things DFO is doing!”
