Why Lead? Why Now?
Belonging for people with disabilities and other isolated individuals doesn’t “just happen” because we like the idea. Good intentions aren’t enough either. We must confront the realities of fragmented communities, bureaucratic systems, broken trust from empty promises, and a relentless current of devaluation pushing marginalized people further out of society.
In a time when moral clarity is eroding, isolation is rising, and social divides are deepening, belonging must be intentionally cultivated—through a community of leaders committed to moral action.
The need for leaders devoted to grassroots, relationship-centered work has never been more urgent.

Lead For One is a learning community devoted to Do For One’s approach of Social Matchmaking. It’s for those who want to weave a new social fabrics by facilitating freely-given, enduring relationships with and for isolated people—rooted in the principles of Do For One.

Social matchmakers are bridge-builders: they cultivate trust across communities, connect isolated people with strong allies, and guide those relationships as they reach for their fullest potential. Over time, this work fosters person-to-person flourishing and sparks change, at a community, and even societal level.
